If it doesn’t start on line, it was never going in.
Only 17% of where your ball starts comes from your stroke.
The Startline trains the other 83%.

"You can read it perfectly. Judge the pace to within inches. Make a sound stroke. And still miss every time."
You know the feeling. You've read the green. You've committed to the line. You've made what felt like a decent stroke.
It missed anyway.
The frustration builds, the confidence drops so you try changing things. Different grip. Different stance. You watch the pros for clues but they're no help. Cack-handed, traditional, claw grip, crouching over it, standing tall. They all look completely different.
So where do you go?
Here's what nobody tells you. Technique is only 17% of where your ball starts. Watch any tour event on Sunday and the proof is right there. Wildly different strokes, wildly different styles, one thing in common. The ball starts online.
That single moment determines 83% of where your ball starts. Not your grip. Not your path. Not anything a technical change will fix.
The ball was going the wrong way before it had travelled six inches. You just had no way to know it, let alone fix it.
Until now.
The first Eight inches decide everything.
When the ball leaves the face it is already on a specific line that is either right or wrong. Direction is set almost instantly, determined entirely by where the face was pointing at the moment of impact.
But here is the part nobody talks about.
When you trust your start line, you stop putting defensively. Instead of standing over a putt thinking "Just leave it close," you are thinking "This is going in."
That shift in mindset is worth shots on its own.
And the putt you leave yourself when you miss? You hole those too. Because you know the ball is starting where you intend.
Train your start line and the doubt disappears. You stop managing misses and start holing putts.
Jordan Spieth, once the greatest putter on the planet, said it best when he rediscovered his touch after years of struggling.
Jordan Spieth, 3x Major Champion
“If you think about the stroke, you've got no touch or feel. Just point, aim, shoot.”
Every great putter knows this. The stroke disappears when it is working. You are not thinking about it. You are just rolling the ball online.
The problem is everything the golf industry sells you does the opposite. Putting mirrors, alignment aids, stroke trainers. All of them make you more conscious of your stroke. More analytical. More in your head.
And when you are in your head, you cannot putt.
The Startline ignores your stroke completely. You just try to get the ball through the gates. Your brain and body figure out the rest. Every single time.
The putting trainer unlike anything else on the market.
Here is how it works.
Place it on your intended start line. Aim. Stroke.
The Saloon Doors tell you everything.
Roll it clean and you have nailed it. Clip a door and it spins instantly, telling you exactly which way the face was pointing. Reset in a second. Go again.
Here is the thing most golfers miss about how this works.
You are not thinking about your technique. You are not running through a checklist or trying to implement what a coach told you last Tuesday. You are just trying to get the ball through the doors.
And your brain figures the rest out on its own.
No drills. No mirrors. No string lines. No swing thoughts. Just a target, Saloon doors, and instant feedback. Your body learns what it needs to learn without you having to think about it at all.
That is why five minutes with the Startline before a round changes how you putt for the next 18 holes. You are not consciously thinking about anything. You just know.
The tee peg problem
The problem with training aids that use tee pegs or small balls is that they are difficult to set up accurately. You have to look up to see what you have hit, and you can make contact without anything actually moving. Time is wasted, and nothing meaningful is learned.
You can easily graze them and still have the ball roll through as if everything is fine. But from ten feet, that same putt could miss the cup by an inch, and you would never realise there was an issue. You may spend an hour practising without gaining any real insight. Worse still, you walk away feeling good about it.
The indentation problem
Several putting trainers have an indentation where the ball sits. The indentation causes the ball to jump in the air at impact, destroying any valuable feedback you might have gained. You are not measuring your start line at that point. You are measuring something that does not exist on a real green.
With many trainers you are required to balance the ball on a dimple, which means you cannot use a line on your ball because that is on the seam. The Startline is different. The ball sits on the actual putting surface, as does the putter, exactly as it would on the course. What you train is what actually transfers.
The Saloon Doors
They work differently. They spin at the slightest contact. There is no grazing. No ambiguity. No rolling through a gate you barely clipped and telling yourself that was close enough.
You either started it online or you did not. The Startline tells you which, every single time.
There is a difference between practising and practising with the truth. The Startline is the only putting trainer built to give you both.
How good do you want to get?
The Startline comes with four tolerance settings. Each one means something specific for your game on the course. We did the maths.
Egg cups for demonstration only.
Your start line is accurate enough to make putts up to 3 feet. Most golfers reach this standard within a session or two. Once you are consistently rolling it through here, your putting will already be better.
Your start line holds up to around 5 feet. The short putts that used to feel nervy start to feel routine.
Your start line is accurate enough to make putts up to 8 feet. The par saves. The momentum putts. The ones that change a round.
Roll it clean through the tightest gate and your start line holds from 15 feet and beyond. This is where putting becomes something else entirely.
Built to last. Built to be honest.
Most putting aids leave room for doubt. A grazed tee peg that barely moves. A small ball that might have rolled on its own. The Saloon Doors remove all of that. Held firm by a magnet, they spin at the slightest contact. Not a wobble. Not a nudge. A clear, unambiguous spin that tells you exactly what happened the moment it happens. No other start line trainer gives you feedback this precise or this honest.
Results that speak for themselves.
“Nine times out of ten it is a start line problem.”
I recommend the PACEPUTT Startline to any golfer who wants to improve on the greens. Most of my students think they have a technique problem. Nine times out of ten it is a start line problem. The Startline shows them that in the first five minutes and they never forget it. I use it myself too and it has been a game changer for me.
“I don't even blink at those testy 3 footers now.”
I'm not a bad putter but I was inconsistent, missing more of the ones I should make. The Startline instantly showed me I wasn't starting the ball where I thought I was. Worse, my clubface was open and I had no idea. Ten minutes later I was rolling it through the 4mm gate and couldn't miss. I use it for five minutes before every round now. My confidence on the greens is unreal.
“I stopped thinking about what I was doing and just hit it.”
I've tried everything to improve my putting. Lessons, YouTube, the lot. I was sceptical about the Startline but was blown away. All of a sudden I stopped thinking about what I was doing and just focused on getting through the gates. I struggled on 8mm for ten minutes then something clicked. Now I'm hitting 6 out of 10 on 4mm and my putting has never been better.
“My putting is unrecognisable from where I was.”
I've only played two years so I'm no expert. But when I played with better golfers the stark difference wasn't the long game, it was the greens. The Startline showed me immediately I was starting everything right of where I thought. I didn't try to change anything, just focused on getting through. My putting is unrecognisable from where I was.
Honest answers before you ask.
